who can apply ?

The following entities can apply for NABL accreditation:

Laboratories: Laboratories that specialize in clinical biochemistry, hematology, clinical pathology, microbiology, infectious disease serology, histopathology, cytopathology, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, or molecular testing can apply for NABL accreditation.
Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs): CABs that perform laboratory testing, calibration, food processing, research, and development can apply for NABL accreditation. CABs can be private or government entities, and can be part of a large organization or an independent entity.
Site facilities and mobile laboratories: Site facilities and mobile laboratories can apply for NABL accreditation.

Prerequisites :

To be eligible for NABL accreditation, a laboratory must meet the following requirements:

Be a CAB
The institution must be a Calibration and Assessment Body (CAB) that performs activities like laboratory testing, research and development, food processing, or calibration.
Have a quality manual
The institution must have a manual that outlines quality requirements.
Have a representative
The institution must select a representative to start the NABL approval process.
Have conducted internal audits
The applicant CAB must have conducted at least one internal audit and a management review before submitting the application.
Have a minimum participation
The laboratory must participate in at least one parameter or type of test or calibration per discipline.
